A control group (CG, 18 people) and an experimental group (EG, 18 people) were determined from among the students of the Russian State Social University who are involved in elective chess courses. In the course of the pedagogical experiment, the following was revealed: the quality of work at competitions, professional competencies, as well as testing the effectiveness of the developed training program for chess organizers and referees. An experimental training program for chess organizers and referees was developed, which was implemented at the seminar, taking into account the specifics and requirements for refereeing.
