Abstract

Objective of the study is to substantiate and develop the content of psychophysical monitoring in the physical education of university students as an innovative approach to the comprehensive management of the physical state of modern student youth in the educational environment and to recommend it for practical implementation. Methods and structure of the study. The research was conducted at Siberian Federal University, Krasnoyarsk. The sample size comprised over 1,200 students in years 1–3. Over three years, psychophysical testing of students was conducted across the following blocks: morphofunctional, psychological, cultural-educational, physical development, stress resistance and physical education literacy. In total, more than 19 groups were analysed, including various indicators of the psychophysical state of students. The collected material was subjected to mathematical processing by blocks of psychophysical state, systematised into tabular form; levels of psychophysical readiness by blocks and an integrated indicator of psychophysical readiness of university students were also developed. Results and conclusions. The statistical material collected across 19 blocks for the assessment and monitoring of the psychophysical state of students over three years also made it possible to select and form correct blocks for assessing the psychophysical state of modern student youth. All of this collectively allowed the development of levels of psychophysical state (excellent, good, satisfactory, unsatisfactory and low) in points across the following monitoring blocks: morphofunctional, psychological, cultural-educational, physical development, stress resistance and physical education literacy. A comprehensive indicator for assessing the psychophysical potential of university students was also developed. Such an innovative and comprehensive approach to assessing the results of physical education of students at university contributes to the expansion and modernisation of the programme and target content of the system of general physical education of student youth.
