Abstract
Objective of the study is to determine the effect of hydrotherapy on the psychophysical condition of 6-7-year-old preschoolers with hyperactivity and ADHD. Methods and structure of the study. The research was conducted at the 'Victoria' Children's Rehabilitation Centre in Minusinsk. Sixteen pre-school children with ADHD were included in the study group. The programme consisted of three corrective and developmental sessions per week, conducted in an aquatic environment, based on a programme of basic exercises for early swimming instruction. During the practical work, it was taken into account that the children under study exhibited a high level of emotional arousal and a lack of internal inhibition, which quickly leads to fatigue and a lack of concentration. Results and conclusions. The significant improvement in indicators of mental well-being, behaviour and the mastery of basic swimming elements should be attributed to the lack of prior skill at the initial stage following two months of sessions, and the subsequent application of specialised methods and techniques. Thus, the correction of ADHD and hyperactivity using hydro-rehabilitation methods is the most effective approach compared to other forms of intervention for this condition, where the primary focus is on the child's time spent in an aquatic environment.
