In search of criteria for increasing the rating of a scientific journal

Objective of the study was to substantiate scientometric and ethical indicators that increase the rating of publications in modern scientific periodicals.
Results and conclusions. In increasing the importance of a journal, an important scientometric indicator is the impact factor, which is influenced by such bibiliometric criteria as the thematic direction of research, the volume, composition and chronological distribution of journals in the database, self-citation and citation by co-authors, publication age, number of co-authors, the credibility of the links, and others.  The tool for effective regulation of relations in the research and publication sphere, which determines the rights and obligations, as well as the responsibility of all participants, is the author's ethics.
