Objective of the study was to analyze promises and limitations of the modern museum technologies applicable in the schoolchildren’s sports recreation camps.
Methods and structure of the study. We run, for the purposes of the study, questionnaire survey of the schoolchildren’s sports recreation camps population, elders, teachers and museum personnel to identify the modern museum technologies applicable to facilitate the culturing and educational service for the age group.
Results and conclusion. The questionnaire survey of the schoolchildren’s sports recreation camps population, elders, teachers and museum personnel found the following: (1) Museums advance their services to the schoolchildren’s sports recreation camps in different formats albeit the sporting topics are still poorly if ever covered by the service range; (2) The schoolchildren’s sports recreation camps population and teachers are still passive in contacts with the museums, and the latter expect their initiative and feedbacks to improve the service; and (3) Every party to the museum service understands well the benefits of sport history classes facilitated by the modern museum technologies. We found that museum technologies in the schoolchildren’s sports recreation camps may be heavily facilitated by the local mini-museums of sports achievements; sports exhibitions in the existing museums with master classes from active athletes and sports veterans. Of special promise may be the museum technologies for the sports history classes with success stories of the sports celebrities, to promote the national/ ethnic sports disciplines, and to motivate children for sports.
