Objective of the study was to develop the positive motivation of senior school students to fulfill GTO tests.
Methods and structure of the study. 40 senior male students aged 16-17 years split into Experimental and Control Groups took part in the educational experiment. In the EG the modular training technology was applied to train the students for GTO tests in track and field disciplines using certain physical quality building modules in the main part of the lesson, which was an innovation. And in the CG the lesson was conducted according to the regular curriculum. The EG purposefully learnt about each GTO complex test, trained for the track and field tests, thus learning about physical training specifics and techniques.
A questionnaire was developed to study the motivation for and interest of senior students in doing the GTO complex tests, which included motives encouraging them to exercise.
Research results and conclusions. The conducted research gives grounds to believe that the modular training technology aimed to train senior students for GTO complex tests makes it possible to increase the motivation for exercising and passing GTO tests successfully.
