Abstract
Objective of the study was to analyze benefits of a new physical education model for senior school students with military and patriotic priorities for future military service.
Methods and structure of the study. We sampled for the new model testing experiment the 16-17-year-old schoolboys. The new military and patriotic prioritizing model was designed based on the Armed Forces’ physical training plan including the hand-to-hand combat, obstacle courses, cross-country races, circular trainings and military team sports. The trainings were run on an extracurricular basis with warm-ups, customizable core training part, military team sports and cool-down/ relaxing exercises. The 90-min trainings were run for 6 months three times a week (116 hours in total).
Results and conclusion. The military and patriotic prioritizing model was tested beneficial as verified by the meaningful progress of the Experimental versus Control group in the physical fitness tests applied for recruits to the Armed Forces. The study data gives us the grounds to recommend the school physical education service for senior groups being complemented by the hand-to-hand combat, obstacle courses, cross-country races, circular trainings and military team sports.
