Objective of the study was to develop and substantiate a sports training model at the sports excellence stage.
Methods and structure of the study. The following methods were applied for the study purposes: overt pedagogical observation, analysis of scientific literature, testing (including psychophysiological one) of qualified cyber athletes. We developed a model of sports training to be used at the sport mastery excellence stage.
Results of the study and conclusions. The authors' model presents three peaks of competitive activity (December, March, and summer-time). At the peak of intense competitive activity, it is necessary to use a variety of recovery tools. Quantitative methods of parametric data assessment are important in the technical (October) and technical-tactical (January and April) training periods. During the lead-in and precompetitive periods (September, November, February, and May), the main focus in the training process should be on strategic decision-making and communication. Depending on the game and sports result demonstrated, the model may change, but at the stage of sport mastery excellence it is important not to force the development of the cyber athletes' fitness in terms of one indicator only but lay the groundwork for the transition to the elite sport mastery stage by carefully developing all the sections of the training program.
