Modified circuit training method in physical education of technical university students

Objective of the study was to develop and substantiate the methodology of development of technical university students' physical qualities through the application of modified circuit training based on individual characteristics.
Methods and structure of the study. The experiment was conducted at the premises of Bryansk State Engineering-Technology and Bryansk State Technical University (Bryansk) and involved 110 students. It lasted for 8 months. The methodology was designed based on the identification of peculiarities of the students' physical development and physical fitness based on the constitutional type, selection of physical education means and methods adequate to the determined type, organization of training sessions by the circuit training method.
Study results and conclusions. The analysis of the study findings revealed that the differentiated method of physical education of students, based on the modified circuit training allowing for the individual peculiarities of development and adequate content of motor activity, contributes to the harmonious development of students, improvement of their physical fitness. The differentiated approach, carried out with due regard for the individual characteristics of students, performs the function of correlation between various constitutional types and physical fitness levels, intensifies their activities and contributes to the harmonic physical development. The proposed methodology can be recommended for wide use in educational institutions during the training sessions with trainees having different levels of physical development, motor and physical fitness.
