Effectiveness of fitness technologies in academic physical education system

Objective of the study was to theoretically develop and experimentally evaluate the effectiveness of use of fitness tools in physical education of student youth.
Methods and structure of the study. The study was carried out through 2017–2019 on the basis of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth, and Tourism. Sampled for the study were the 17-23 year-old females (n=44), who were divided into two groups: CG (n=22) and EG (n=22). The essence of the experimental technology was that the female students prioritized extracurricular fitness classes, which implied the use of gymnastic apparatus and groove machines. Based on the findings, we assessed the dynamics of the female students’ fitness rates, which made it possible to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
Results of the study and conclusions. According to the research results, the use of fitness technologies in the organization of extracurricular physical education activities for students of higher educational institutions enables to significantly increase their physical fitness rates. The data obtained allow recommending this methodology as an effective approach to the organization of extracurricular physical education activities at university.
