Objective of the study was to develop a stress tolerance formation technology for students to use during independent aerobic practices.
Methods and structure of the study. The study involved 372 second-year students of SPbPU majoring in Aerobics. The pedagogical testing conducted according to Y.V. Scherbatykh enabled us to rank the stress factors, analyze the stress coping techniques, determine the level of formation of individual stress tolerance in the students.
Study results and conclusions. The sociological survey showed that 99% of respondents experience academic process related stress. We were able to determine the stress factors, rank the data of educational monitoring of stress tolerance in the students, study the ways to reduce academic process related stress.
For the students majoring in the Aerobics discipline, we developed and implemented a step-by-step technique of independent training, aimed to enhance stress tolerance in the students by means of aerobics, determined the psychological and pedagogical conditions for its implementation.
Aerobics, as one of the types of motor activity, has a wide range of means to improve stress tolerance. The implemented technique of independent training of students during the training sessions teaches them how to cope with stressful situations, increases the level of independence, forms the skills of adequate response to stress stimuli.
