Introduction. In the continental ice hockey league, the competitive match performance is assessed using a quantum method applied to rate energy system coloration, functional state, rehabilitation process, and energy status of the ice hockey players [1-2]. The color energy system determined by the quantum method characterizes the in-process monitoring of the functional state, recovery of the functional reserves, functional performance, forecasting of competitive result before, during and after a hockey match. If the energy system coloration in the continental ice hockey teams does not change in shape and content of the informational vertical square and game progress circle throughout the game, this means the athletes are functionally ready for successful competitive performance.

Objective of the study was to provide energy rating basis for the competitive performance forecasts in the continental ice hockey league matches.

Methods and structure of the study. The study was designed to apply the quantum energy and functional state rating method to the continental ice hockey league players. The quantum method is the close-contact or remote impact on the athlete’s body energy systems designed to diagnose, rate the rehabilitation progress during and after the educational-training and competitive activities regardless of the distance between the ice hockey player or team when the energy system coloration and functional state are tested and recovered.

Successful competitive performance of the ice hockey players was assessed based on the energy system coloration after a 1-minute application of the quantum method determining the functional state, rehabilitation process, energy system level and forecasting of the match result. The energy and functional state of the ice hockey players was rated promptly based on the changes in the color energy system during playing. The existing informational energy forms in the ice hockey players and teams are classified into low-level – horizontal square, moderate-level – vertical square, and high-level energy system – circle, characterized by particular color indices.

Results and discussion. Let us analyze and substantiate the energy law of successful and unsuccessful competitive performance of the continental ice hockey league teams through the example of the Avangard - Traktor match (January 18, 2013).

The energy law says that an ice hockey team has a high-level energy system if its players have an uninjured spinal canal, musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems. The color rates of the energy backgrounds in such ice hockey players are red, bright-red, dark-red, their energy system is normally in the shape of an informational circle. Such an ice hockey team is distinguished by top achievements, takes the first five places in the overall ranking, that is, the hockey match result depends on the team energy status. The competitive performance profiling studies showed the ice hockey team performance being well rated by the energy level colorations (low, moderate and high) and energy shapes indicative of the spinal, neuromuscular and functional energy centers performance. A high level of development of special physical fitness of the ice hockey teams and high competitive performance results are only owing to the high level of their energy system, i.e. light-red, dark-red, red coloration, claiming their high functionality during the matches. Identification of the color indices in the ice hockey teams is the most important basis for forecasting successful competitive performance. Let us illustrate the energy status and match results, depending on the energy system coloration, functional state of the ice hockey teams by the example of the Avangard - Traktor match. The energy systems of the Avangard and Traktor teams differed prior to the match in terms of color and, accordingly, they had different functional fitness level and demonstrated different match results.

Prior to the hockey match, the color rate of the energy background in the Avangard team was dark-red, their energy system had the shape of the horizontal informational square, which prevented them from winning a match, since the 100% dark-red coloration of the energy system relates to the low level of the horizontal informational square. At the same time, it is not only the energy system coloration that determines a successful ice hockey match, but also the shape containing energy of different levels.

Prior to the match, the Traktor team had a moderate-level energy system, being 35% red-light and 65% green, in the shape of the horizontal informational cylinder. This kind of energy is more "energy-intensive", but insignificant with respect to the horizontal informational square. The hockey match turned out to be a hot contest considering the shape of the informational horizontal "cylinder" of the hockey team: Traktor won 2:1, having a minor functional and energy advantage over Avangard. If the ice hockey team had had the red energy system coloration in the shape of the informational circle, they would have demonstrated high match results, since there would have been no fatigue, over-fatigue, or overstrain of the functional system. The examined ice hockey teams were found to have insignificant energy differences in the day of the hockey match. Next, let us consider the minor energy differences in the energy system coloration of the Avangard and Traktor teams after the first, second, and third periods of the match. At the end of the first period, after conceding a goal, the energy system in the Avangard team changed its shape from the horizontal informational square to two connected circles without clear contours or borders. The first upper circle contained 60% of the red color and the second lower one was 40% yellow. The yellow energy system coloration in the form of a blurred circle indicated a decrease in the physical working capacity by 40%. At the end of the first period (the score was 1:1), the energy system of the Traktor team held its shape of the horizontal informational square. At the same time, the light-red energy in the middle of the square was divided by 20% of green, 40% of red at the top of the square and 40% of at the bottom of the square. The content of the energy system in the Traktor team was as follows: 20% - green color indicating fatigue, the ice hockey players recovered not fast enough, their functionality decreased by 20%.

At the end of the second period, the energy system coloration in the Avangard team increased to 85% of the red color and decreased to 15% of the green color, while maintaining the shape of the horizontal informational square. The increase of the red color indices at the end of the second period was due to the functionality improvement and gradual involvement of the ice hockey team into the game.

At the end of the second period, the energy system coloration in the Traktor team decreased to 35% of the red color and increased to 65% of the green color. At the same time, the energy system shape changed from the horizontal informational square to the vertical informational square to replenish the team red-color energy.

After the third 20-minute period, the shape of the energy system in the Avangard team changed from the vertical square to the horizontal informational square being 30% light-red and 70% red. The percentage ratio of the red and light-red colors in the Avangard team confirmed the onset of the process of functional recovery.

After the third 20-minute period, the shape of the energy system in the Traktor team changed from three horizontal squares to one horizontal informational square being 70% light-red and 30% yellow. The presence of the red and yellow colors in the energy system of the Avangard ice hockey team indicated a positive recovery process and decreased psychophysiological tension after the game, in which Traktor won 2:1.

Conclusion. It is only the ice hockey teams with the bright-red, red, and dark-red coloration of the energy system in the shape of a circle that will have top competitive accomplishments, rather than those with green, yellow, blue, or brown coloration of the energy system in the shape of a horizontal square indicative of blurred energy contours, which is confirmed by the emergence of fatigue, over-fatigue, overstrain that inevitably lead to a defeat.

The analysis of the hockey match revealed that an ideal color background of the energy system contributing to high match results is red, bright-red, dark-red. The color rates of the ice hockey teams energy backgrounds are yellow, brown, green, their energy systems also vary in forms, which indicates the onset of fatigue, over-fatigue; such hockey players often make technical mistakes and get penalty minutes.

Abstract

Objective of the study was to provide energy rating basis for the competitive performance forecasts in the continental ice hockey league matches. The study was designed to apply a quantum energy and functional state rating method to ice hockey players. The parameters rated in the study were as follows: energy system colorations, shapes and content of the informational vertical square and game progress circle – to assess the performance potentials and special fitness of the players and forecast the competitive result. The competitive performance profiling studies showed the ice hockey team performance being well rated by the energy level colorations (low, moderate and high) and energy shapes indicative of the spinal, neuro-muscle and functional energy centers performance. The energy system form may be changed from the horizontal to vertical to replenish the team red-color energy.
