Objective of the study was to analyze benefits of academic boxing for the healthy lifestyle (HLS) promotion in academic youth. The students’ attitudes to the academic sports and their perceived health effects were probed by a questioning survey in October 2017, with the first-to-third-year students (n=124) of K.A. Timiryazev MAA sampled for the survey. The questionnaire survey form offered 12 questions, with the survey data used to analyze the modern trends in the HLS formation in academic environments with reference to the personal HLS experience of the author. The study data and analysis show that positive attitudes to the academic sports, balanced diets, reasonable daily regimes and active recreation help form a basis for the personality development process. The academic boxing practices are beneficial for this process due to their integrated effects on every muscle group and individual physicality on the whole. Modern boxing practices were found appealing for the young people and age- and gender-unspecific; as they improve the physical and mental health and contribute to the personality development process; with the special training effects being reasonably managed and customized to the individual health condition in the mass academic boxing sport.
