Abstract

The physical education teachers’ questionnaire to survey their attitudes to the GTO Complex implementation project in the national educational system was designed to include the toolkit offered by an autonomous version of the electronic questionnaire form recommended by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation. We used the questionnaire survey data to rate the factors of influence on the teachers’ attitudes to the GTO Complex implementation in the curricula. Subject to the questionnaire survey were 150 physical education teachers from Langepas, Nefteyugansk and Nefteyugansk region, Surgut and Mezhdurechensky town; with 90.3 % of the respondents reported to have higher education; 8% secondary professional education; and 0.7% incomplete higher education.

The questionnaire survey data showed most of the physical education teachers being supportive of the GTO Complex implementation initiative due to the facilitating effect of the Complex on the school and academic physical education and sports. It was also found that 60% of the respondents appreciate progress of the GTO Complex implementation efforts in the education system and the relevant progress in mass sport activity including competitions, festivals, quiz games and other events.
