The study presents findings of the experiment to detect and analyze the distraction factors and tolerance rates in volleyball competitions and rate motivations for success versus distraction tolerance rates in the volleyball players. The study data give the grounds to conclude that the higher is the individual motivation for competitive success the higher is the players’ tolerance to failures in game situations, own mental pitfalls and many other distracting factors – i.e. the better is the individual mindset and the competitive performance rates.
The study data and analyses were used as a basis for the relevant mental conditioning recommendations geared to secure due distraction tolerance in volleyball players making them less vulnerable to the negative game process impacts, stressors and distractions to keep due mindsets and behavioral responses, fulfill the game plan in its every tactical and technical aspect and thereby improve the competitive performance and success rates on the whole.

Keywords: competitive performance, distracting factors, individual mental status, questionnaire survey.
