The study considers issues of special physical training tools for football players acting in different game roles in matches since the traditional special physical training system applied in national football is still in need of a good arsenal of efficient training tools to improve the physical performance of the players. Subject to analysis under the study were the qualitative performance rates of the players from every football club of the Russian Premier League (RPL) in the season of 2015/16 as reported by the leading analytical Instat Company, with a special emphasis on the individual match loads and load variations for the football players acting in different game roles. The study offers model designs for the physical training systems for the football players acting in different game roles in matches. The study findings provide the means to improve the football players’ physical training process with the relevant process adjustment and optimizing toolkit.
