The article presents the results of a questioning survey of the 1-3-year students split up into four physical training/ sport groups (body conditioning (BC), volleyball, fitness and physical therapy (PT) groups) at Tomsk State University. The respondents showing opposite attitudes to physical exercises offered as the stress tolerance improvement tool were requested to rate in points 38 stress tolerance criteria. The survey data and analysis found the students with generally positive attitudes to physical practices showing higher stress tolerance rates that may be largely due to their responsible attitudes to the education process. And conversely, the students with generally negative attitudes to physical practices offered as the stress-mitigation means were tested with lower stress tolerance rates that may be due to their poor motivations for the university studies and disappointment with the vocational choice.

Keywords: stress, stress tolerance rate, stressors, stress factors, forms of physical training and sport activity.
