Effects of weight training practices on speed-strength quality development in kickboxers

Subject to the study were 28 kickboxers randomly split up into Reference Group and Study Group. Different sets of traditional and new strength training methods were applied under the study, with the experimental training cycle taking 8 weeks. The performance rating tests showed the Study Group training system being more efficient than that of the Reference Group. The new training system gives a high priority to the core muscles strengthening in addition to the traditional strength training that makes no emphasis on the core muscles.
