The present paper concerns the problem of development of strength qualities in boys in the course of trainings in a gym. Significant differences in the level of development of boys’ strength qualities stipulate for designing of the methodology of strength training in view of the individual approach to every pupil, level of development of his strength qualities, specification of methods and selecting the program of classes.
The purpose of the study was to define the relations between strength indicators of young boys with different strength fitness levels in view of anthropometric characteristics.
Low physical fitness level was proved to be correlated with is harmonious development of strength qualities of different grounds of muscles.
Strength endurance and maximal strength of the same grounds of muscles are correlated insignificantly in poorly trained students, but the relations are getting stronger with the rising fitness level.
Strength endurance can be correctly estimated using pull-up and push-up tests only in well-trained students.
Strength fitness of 18–22-year-old boys is characterized in the total sample by the compliance with the indicators of development of strength qualities and their qualities and high and their average relation to relative ratio of maximal strength and single anthropometric indices.
When designing a methodology of development of strength qualities one is to take into account that every strength quality is to be developed in view of anthropometric characteristics and the use of special exercises for the groups 1 and 2 and in view of positive shift of one quality to another and complementarities of development with physical exercises for the group 3.
