Keywords: women's wrestling, coordination abilities, technical-tactical preparedness, dynamic balance, spatial control, attack effectiveness.
Objective of the study: to determine the influence of coordination training on the technical-tactical preparedness indicators of female wrestlers.
Methods and organization of the study. The study involved 24 female athletes aged 18–23 years with the qualification of Candidate for Master of Sports (CMS), divided into experimental and control groups of 12 people each. The pedagogical experiment lasted 12 weeks. The experimental group trained according to a program with the targeted inclusion of coordination exercises into the structure of technical-tactical actions, while the control group followed a standard program. For diagnostics, the Y-Balance test, Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT), video coding of training bouts, movement timing, and expert assessment of the quality of technical actions execution were used.
Results of the study and their discussion. Before the start of the experiment, the groups were comparable in all studied indicators. The Y-Balance values were 92.8±2.9 cm in the experimental group and 92.4±3.1 cm in the control group (p≥0.05); SEBT – 67.5±4.8 cm and 68.2±5.1 cm, respectively (p≥0.05). Attack effectiveness was 42.3±4.9% and 41.7±5.2% (p≥0.05), torso stability – 3.7±0.3 and 3.6±0.4 points (p≥0.05), "grip–execution" interval – 0.74±0.09 s and 0.75±0.08 s (p≥0.05).
Upon completion of the 12-week cycle, the athletes in the experimental group showed more pronounced positive changes. The Y-Balance indicator increased to 101.9±3.4 cm, whereas in the control group it increased to 95.1±3.0 cm (p<0.05). The SEBT result increased to 75.7±4.9 cm in the experimental group and to 70.6±5.0 cm in the control group (p<0.05). Simultaneously, the experimental group showed a more substantial increase in the frequency and effectiveness of attacks, an improvement in torso stability, and a reduction in the interval between the grip and the execution of the technical action. In the control group, the changes were less pronounced and corresponded to natural training adaptation.
Conclusions. The inclusion of coordination training in the preparation system of female wrestlers contributes to a more pronounced increase in the athletes' technical-tactical preparedness compared to the standard program. The improvement in dynamic balance, torso stability, and attack effectiveness indicators allows recommending its use in the training process of female wrestlers.
