Introduction. Since September 1, 2024, inclusion in the federal program "Service-Learning" has become mandatory for universities, and it is of particular relevance for higher education institutions training specialists in the field of physical culture and sports. For its successful implementation, it is important not only to understand the essence of the new educational approach, but also to take into account the specifics of the sphere in which it is implemented (specifics of infrastructure, priority of physical development, competitiveness, spectacle, publicity, teamwork, integration of medicine and science, etc.).
Aim of the study: analysis of the features and problems of implementing the "service-learning" educational approach in the field of physical culture and sports.
Methods and organization of the study. The scientific work used the results of 1) content analysis of social tasks in the field of physical culture (n=113) and sports (n=188) that passed verification and were published on the Dobro.rf website, and 2) SWOT analysis, which allowed a comprehensive assessment of the potential and limitations of "service-learning" for the field of physical culture and sports.
Results of the study and their discussion. Based on the data obtained as a result of the analysis of the implementation of "service-learning" in the field of physical culture and sports, it can be noted that: 1) the main areas of application of sports knowledge requested by social partners are the rehabilitation of people with disabilities, the prevention of hypodynamia and bad habits, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle through mass events, etc.; 2) the quality of training depends on the development of sports infrastructure and teachers capable of combining experience in physical culture and sports, mentoring skills, knowledge in the field of social project design, non-profit organizations, and social protection, so as not to become a formal element of the educational program; 3) it is important to use comprehensive indicators that take into account both sports and social results; 4) when introducing innovative methods and modern formats, it is necessary to take into account medical contraindications when working with special groups, physical load, and the probability of injuries, especially when working with inexperienced participants or in non-standard conditions.
Conclusions. In general, the "service-learning" educational approach in the field of physical culture and sports has significant potential (deepening of professional competencies in students, building their networking and employability), which must take into account the local sports infrastructure, demographic characteristics of the beneficiaries of projects and events, as well as traditional sports for the region.
