Introduction. At the present stage, the People's Republic of China is one of the leaders in Deaflympic sports. The Chinese model of training athletes with hearing impairments has successfully transformed from a local initiative into a streamlined state mechanism. The consistently high results of the People's Republic of China national team are the outcome of a long-term strategy implemented within the framework of state programs. The relevance of the study is due to the need to examine the structural features of the Chinese system for the possible adaptation of this successful experience in other countries.
Aim of the study: a comprehensive analysis of the current state of the training system for athletes with hearing impairments in the People's Republic of China.
Methods and organization of the study. The information base consisted of materials on the organizational structure of sports management in the People's Republic of China, regulatory and legal acts in the field of protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, data on the infrastructure of reserve training, and methodological support for the training process.
Results of the study and their discussion. It was established that the foundation of the training system for athletes with hearing impairments in China is vertical integration into the nationwide sports management structure. The training of athletes is built on the principle of the Olympic reserve, taking into account the specifics of deaf athletes. The grassroots level is formed by special boarding schools, where early sports screening is conducted at the age of 6 to 8 years and a unified database of athletes is maintained. This eliminates the problem of a late start and allows for the identification of talents at the primary school age. The regional level is represented by sports schools in large cities, where education is combined with intensive training in an adapted communication environment using sign language and visual signals. National training bases provide centralized training for national teams using a professional approach: strict regimen, dietetics, and scientific support. A clear hierarchy from school through region to the national team guarantees the continuity of selection and training.
The legislative framework of the People's Republic of China, including the law on the protection of persons with disabilities, obliges the state to create conditions for sports activities. National team athletes are provided with scholarships, benefits, and medical insurance; the Sport as a Career Path program guarantees employment or preferential admission to universities after the completion of their athletic careers. State media actively cover the successes of Deaflympic athletes, shaping a positive image of people with disabilities. Striving for leadership in managing the international movement, the People's Republic of China actively participates in the organization of major sports events, which raises the country's status and allows for the effective integration of young athletes into international competitive practice.
Conclusions. The Chinese model demonstrates that a systemic approach can turn sports opportunities for deaf people into a tool for social and national integration. The sustainability of the model is ensured by adaptation to technological challenges while maintaining the priority of human capital.
