Abstract

Objective of the study is the study and analysis of the attitude of students to the GTO complex, the identification of the factors contributing to and impeding the participation in the passing of the norms (tests). Methods and structure of the study. In the period from March to May 2026, an anonymous online survey was conducted, in which 60 students of the 1st-4th years of the Saint-Petersburg State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and the Pavlov Pavlov Institute of Physiology, Russian Academy of Sciences took part. A complex of methods was used: theoretical analysis of the literature, survey, mathematical statistics. Results and conclusions. This study showed a substantial gap between the awareness and physical preparation of the students, on the one hand, and the real participation in the passing of the norms (tests) of the GTO, on the other. Following the results of the study, it is proposed to consider the creation of a mechanism making it possible, for the badge of the GTO, to receive advantages in the process of studying at educational organisations of higher education (an additional scholarship, additional points in the discipline ‘Physical Culture’, a board of honour, etc.).
