Abstract

Objective of the study is the empirical substantiation of the content of physical education for students with disabilities. Methods and structure of the study. Students with visual impairment took part in the scientific work. A search for and introduction of accessible and effective means of physical education was carried out taking into account the accessible load, ensuring an adequate expansion of motor activity without harm to health, strengthening the whole organism and positively affecting the visual function, as well as improving the blood supply of the eyes and training the oculomotor muscles. Results and conclusions. The physical education of students with disabilities (especially with visual impairments) requires a differentiated approach taking into account the degree of impairment and the selection of adequate means of motor activity. The proposed methodology, including cyclic exercises, sports games with the switching of vision and special oculomotor exercises, demonstrated a positive dynamics of physical fitness (an increase from 8 to 32%) and a reduction of visual fatigue (complaints of discomfort when working at a PC decreased from 75% to 30%).
