Abstract
Objective of the study is to assess the influence of regular volleyball training on the physical status of young men. Methods and structure of the study. 28 students of Russian universities of youth age were observed, who were divided into two comparable groups. The training group (16 people), in addition to physical culture classes at the university, began to attend a volleyball section twice a week. The control group, which was physically inactive (12 people), consisted of young men who avoided physical loads in their life. The young men of both groups initially and after 3 months of observation underwent standard functional tests. Results and conclusions. Participation in volleyball training twice a week contributed at a young age to the growth of the level of general physical fitness. This consisted in an increase in the strength capabilities of those training, an increase in endurance, the accuracy of motor actions and positive dynamics of coordination. In this connection, volleyball training can be considered an effective variant of the physical activation of young men.
