Abstract

Objective of the study is the substantiation of the role and significance of the institution of curators in the sporting activity of students. Methods and structure of the study. The main method of the scientific work is the traditional analysis of the correspondence of the number of curators to the quantitative and qualitative parameters of the sporting activity of a federal university. The Ural Federal University (UrFU) served as the information base of the study by virtue of two factors. The first is the formal status of the university, which represents a universal model of higher education, since it includes most of the areas of preparation and forms of educational activity. The second is that UrFU has been proven to be the leader of physical-culture and sports work with students in the Ural Federal District. Results and conclusions. National projects in modern Russia are ways of solving the problems generated by external conditions and a contradictory internal state. The preservation of the health and the physical culture of learners is one of the priority tasks facing the universities of the Russian Federation. The solution of this task is quite possible with the pooling of the efforts of all the subjects of educational work, including the curators of academic groups.
