Abstract

Objective of the study is the verification of the effectiveness of the ‘flipped classroom’ method in teaching volleyball to female students of a Chinese university. Methods and structure of the study. The object of this study was 78 female students of Zhengzhou University engaged in an elective course in volleyball; an experimental group, which studied with the application of the ‘flipped classroom’ method, and a control group, following the traditional teaching methodology, were formed. Results and conclusions. The application of the ‘flipped classroom’ method in teaching volleyball to female students of Zhengzhou University showed its advantage over the traditional methodology. In the experimental group, the indicators of learning motivation, technical fitness (ball reception, overhand pass) and physical qualities (running, throwing) reliably improved. The method can be recommended for introduction into the practice of physical education of Chinese universities.
