Abstract

Introduction. The peculiarity of this sport is the combination of acrobatic movements, speed-strength and coordination-complex actions with elements of choreography and musical expressiveness, which imposes special requirements on functional preparedness and the level of special physical fitness (SPF). Thus, the task of developing a special test for assessing the level of SPF using the basic step and main elements in acrobatic rock-n-roll, based on PWC170, is relevant.

Objective of the study – to select the means of the sport acrobatic rock-n-roll for the development of an assessment test of special physical performance based on the PWC170 test; to develop a test, check its informativeness and reliability.

Results of the study and their discussion. The special test is based on the basic element of acrobatic rock-n-roll – the basic step (basic movement).

The performance of the basic step is based on a swing rhythm with a frequency of 46-52 bars per minute (192-204 beats per minute); the tempo may vary depending on the competitive discipline.

"The basic step is a feature of leg movements that defines the style of acrobatic rock-n-roll as a separate dance direction (specificity of movements), on which dance figures and changes are built. The basic step consists of two main movements: kick-ball-change and kick-step (the beginning of the first movement in the basic step: the partner performs with the left foot, the partner with the right foot)" [2].

The test consists of two sequentially performed loads (by analogy with the traditional PWC170 test [1]) lasting 60 seconds each; the rest interval between "stages" is also 60 seconds. Heart rate (HR) was recorded at the end of each "stage". The tempo of performing the basic step at the first "stage" is 24 bars per minute, at the second – 36 bars per minute. Repeated performance of the test by athletes, comparison of test results with the results of testing using the traditional PWC170 test, as well as with the results of their competitive activity, allowed us to conclude about its reliability and informativeness.

Conclusion. The developed specialized test for assessing SPF in acrobatic rock-n-roll consists of two loads; the test is based on the "basic step" (basic step of acrobatic rock-n-roll); heart rate is measured at the end of each load. Verification of the test for informativeness and reliability gave a positive result.
