Abstract
Objective of the study is to assess the effectiveness of basic ballet training for primary school children in general education schools of the People's Republic of China in the process of teaching them dance technique.
Methodology and organization of the study. The scientific work was conducted during the 2024/2025 academic year in primary classes of general education schools in China. As a result of the experiment, experts (n=2) with the highest coaching qualification in ballroom dancing assessed the quality of movements when performing technical elements of dance as part of basic training, using a 5-point system.
Results of the study and their discussion. The average movement quality score for students in the control class before the experiment was 6.67 points, with a standard deviation of 0.41. The average movement quality score after the experiment for primary school children was 6.75 points, with a standard deviation of 0.37. After comparative analysis, the average movement quality score in the technique of ballroom training for primary school children increased not significantly (p>0.05).
The average movement quality score for students in the experimental classes before the experiment was 6.70 points, with a standard deviation of 0.35. The average movement quality score after the experiment for the children was 7.33 points, with a standard deviation of 0.43. After comparative analysis, the average quality of actions score for children in the experimental group increased significantly (p<0.05).
Conclusion. The research allows us to assert that thanks to 18 weeks of basic ballet training, the subjects in the experimental classes show effective formation of dynamic technique, which positively affects the quality of movements. Ballet dynamic technique, using the example of lower limb training, plays a notable role in training muscle abilities, increasing the amplitude and strength of movement of muscle groups and agility.
