Objective of the study is to identify criteria for the rapid trainability of judokas at the training stage.
Methods and structure of the study. A questionnaire was conducted to determine the level of trainability, physical fitness testing, anthropometric measurements of the body with subsequent calculation of physical development indices, and identification of blood type. The study was conducted at the Olympic Reserve Sports School in the Vasileostrovsky District of St. Petersburg. Thirty-four judo athletes aged 12 to 14 years old, of all weight categories, with 3 to 7 years of experience in the sport were examined.
Results and conclusions. As a result of the analysis of the questionnaires, the individual timeframes for judokas to reach a certain level of athletic qualification were established, which made it possible to divide them into two groups: fast learners and slow learners. It was found that the morphological indicators that reliably distinguish fast-training judokas include: low values of the Yarkho-Kaupe weight-height index, the Pigneau index and the proportionality index, a normostenic body type, and belonging to blood group III (B). Fast-training judokas outperform slow-training judokas in physical fitness according to the results of two tests: arm flexion and extension in the push-up position and forward bend from a standing position on a gymnastic bench.
The data obtained can serve as criteria for the sports selection of young judokas at the training stage.
Keywords: judo, individual trainability, physical development, physical fitness, training stage.
