Designing assessment materials for a demonstration exam to train physical education instructors in preschool educational institutions

Objective of the study is to develop assessment materials for a demonstration exam that would provide an independent assessment of the professional readiness of physical education instructors to work in preschool educational institutions.
Methods and structure of the study. The methodological basis consisted of practice-oriented and activity-based approaches involving the simulation of quasi-professional situations. The study consisted of two stages: theoretical (analysis of regulatory documents, methodological recommendations and demonstration exam models) and empirical (design and testing of tasks at pilot sites in higher education institutions).
Results and conclusions. The exam tasks included a pedagogical task, a description of the conditions and problem context, as well as practical actions to be taken by the student (planning, conducting a fragment of a lesson, self-analysis). Assessment was carried out on the basis of design, methodological, diagnostic-analytical and reflective competences. The results showed that the integrative, contextual structure of the tasks ensures the transition from testing individual skills to assessing overall professional readiness.
The developed materials can be recommended for implementation in pedagogical universities, improving the quality of training physical education instructors to work in preschool educational organisations and early physical development centres, contributing to the formation of children's interest in physical education and the values of a healthy lifestyle in accordance with state standards.
