Objective of the study is to conduct a practical investigation into the level of demand and involvement of rural school students in school sports clubs (SSCs), as well as the factors influencing their participation.
Methods and structure of the study. Based on two school sports clubs (School Sports Club of School No. 1 in Samashki and School Sports Club of School No. 4 in Samashki), a questionnaire was conducted to assess the motivation, satisfaction and frequency of schoolchildren's participation in the clubs. The study involved 120 students in grades 7-9, divided into two groups: those actively participating in clubs (group A) and those not participating or participating sporadically (group B). Additionally, an analysis of club attendance and material and technical support was conducted.
Results and conclusions. Low interest among schoolchildren in SSC activities was identified (about 35% regularly attend classes). It was established that the main factors reducing demand are: lack of material resources, limited choice of sections, inconvenient schedule, and the remoteness of the place of residence of some students. Group A showed a higher level of satisfaction with school life and physical fitness. The activities of school sports clubs in rural areas have significant potential, but their implementation requires adaptation to local conditions, expansion of material and technical resources, and programme variability. The results of the study allow us to recommend: the development of inter-school cooperation SSC for the exchange of resources and joint activities, the implementation of a flexible schedule taking into account transport accessibility, the introduction of modular programmes with an emphasis on games and applied types of physical activity, and the use of digital platforms to inform and motivate students.
