Objective of the study is to evaluate and analyse data on the level of physical fitness of students from India who enrolled at Kemerovo State University.
Methods and structure of the study. The research was carried out at the Department of Health and Physical Education at Kemerovo State University. The physical fitness of Indian students enrolled in the first year of the university was tested. Data processing, analysis and discussion were carried out at the Saint-Petersburg University of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
Results and conclusions. During the study of the physical fitness level of Indian students, data was obtained showing that the most physically fit are young men from the union territory of Delhi (the capital of India) and the states of West Bengal and Haryana. Young men from the states of Bihar, Karnataka, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh are physically unfit.
An analysis of the physical fitness data for Indian female students shows that girls from the states of Haryana and Chhattisgarh are the most physically fit. Girls from the states of Bihar, West Bengal and Gujarat are the least physically fit.
If we compare the results obtained with the results of students in Russia shown in other studies, we see that Russian students demonstrate higher indicators of physical development. Comparing the results shown by Indian students with the GTO physical fitness standards, we can say that they are very low.
