The use of assessment tools in the process of developing the professional competencies of future physical education teachers

Objective of the study is to summarise and present the experience of developing and using assessment tasks from the assessment toolkit for the subject-methodological module for students of the 44.03.05 Pedagogical Education (with two training profiles) programme, specialising in Physical Culture and Life Safety.
Methods and structure of the study. The main research methods are analysis and systematisation of psychological and pedagogical literature, normative documents, generalisation of pedagogical experience, testing, surveys, and statistical methods.
Results and conclusions. An analysis of the literature on the research problem showed that the need to develop and use assessment tools in the training of future teachers is due to changes that have taken place in the school education system. The creation of a bank of tasks for the disciplines included in the subject-methodological module made it possible to take a comprehensive approach to the procedure for assessing the level of knowledge and professional competencies of students. Testing the assessment tool bank for the subject-methodological module revealed problem areas in student training, such as insufficient development of analytical skills and, in general, poor knowledge of inclusive educational technologies, which indicates an insufficient level of development of students' universal and professional competencies.
