Objective of the study is to identify the dynamics of bioelectrical activity of the myocardium in students of an agricultural university depending on the nature of their physical activity.
Methods and structure of the study. A total of 62 students of an agricultural university were examined, of whom two groups were identified based on their physical activity: group A – students who continued to engage in selected sports (25 people) and group B – students who stopped playing sports after the third year (41 people). The bioelectrical activity of the myocardium in students of an agricultural university was studied using the results of the generally accepted method of interpreting electrocardiograms. All indicators at each stage of the study were recorded three times: at rest, after dosed physical activity, and during the recovery period. A two-stage step test on a 40 cm high step was used as a submaximal dosed load according to the method of Y.S. Weinbaum. All functional study data obtained were processed using the method of variational statistics.
Results and conclusions. ECG data at rest showed an improvement in cardiovascular system indicators in students engaged in selected sports compared to those who had stopped playing sports. This manifested itself in a lengthening of the cardiac cycle by 35.7 beats per minute and the presence of a large percentage of moderate (68%) and severe (32%) sinus arrhythmia, which indicated an increase in the functional reserves of the heart in students who exercised throughout their period of study at the university.
Informative indicators for assessing the bioelectrical activity of the myocardium in students with different types of physical activity are: the severity of sinus arrhythmia (∆RR=0.25-0.50 c), the characteristics of RR intervals, QT and the amplitude of Pıı, Rıı, Tıı waves and the total voltage of R waves in standard electrocardiogram leads.
