Determinants of reduced student performance in terms of sociological analysis

Objective of the study is to identify the reasons for the decline in students' performance.
Methods and structure of the study. During the study, a sociological survey was conducted, with respondents being first- to fourth-year students (bachelors) at higher education institutions.
Results and conclusions. The results of the study showed that the main motivating factor for systematic attendance at classes was the formal requirement of the curriculum, i.e. the need to obtain a credit. Students consider chronic stress caused by a high academic workload and other psycho-emotional factors to be the main reason for the deterioration of their physical condition. To solve the identified problems, a systematic approach is needed, including the adjustment of educational programmes and the organisation of special events aimed at developing various forms of physical activity to form a sustainable internal motivation for classes.
