Longterm dynamics of energy metabolism indicators in hockey players at the highest level of sporting mastery

Objective of the study is to evaluate the long-term dynamics of energy metabolism indicators and their relationship with the age of highly skilled athletes.
Methods and structure of the study. The research was conducted on field hockey players (n=11) over a period of 14 years in laboratory conditions using standard step and Wingate tests.
Results and conclusions. The age dynamics of MAP in hockey players showed an increase in the level of speed and strength training of the lower limb muscles during ontogenesis. Properly structured training for age-group athletes contributes to an increase in maximum alactate power (MAP). Regardless of the stage of the annual training cycle, the anaerobic threshold showed a tendency to decrease during ontogenesis.
