Introduction. The relationship between the level of volitional organization and dominant emotions is one of the key topics of athletes' preparation for athletic achievements.
The purpose of the study is to identify the relationship between the level of volitional organization and dominant emotions in sports achievements.
Methodology and organization of research.  The study was conducted on the basis of the Baikal State University among student athletes. The age of the respondents varies from 18 to 25 years, all representatives of the male sex. The method of "Diagnosis of volitional personality traits" by M.V. Chumakov made it possible to identify the level of self-regulation, determination and perseverance of athletes.  The method of determining the general emotional orientation of B. I. Dodonov's personality revealed their gloristic, altruistic and communicative orientation.
The results of the study and their discussion. As a result of the study, a statistically significant positive correlation was established between determination and the glorious emotional orientation (Rs=0.562, p<0.01). This indicates that athletes who are characterized by a willingness to make decisions quickly and thoughtfully also tend to experience positive emotions associated with self-affirmation, success, and recognition. Perhaps achieving success is an important incentive for these athletes and a source of positive experiences in sports achievements.
There was also a significant positive correlation between energy and altruistic emotional orientation (Rs=0.512, p<0.01). This indicates that athletes who experience high levels of energy and activity also tend to experience positive emotions associated with success in sports, both their own and the success of their comrades. Correlation between purposefulness and communicative emotional orientation (Rs=0.570, p<0.01). This indicates that athletes who consciously strive to achieve their goals also enjoy team communication, establishing contacts and exchanging information.
Conclusion. In conditions of intense training, athletes face various difficulties that require them to mobilize internal resources and show willpower. The volitional organization of the individual plays an important role in successfully overcoming these difficulties, and also affects the emotional sphere of the athlete.
