Objective of the study is to identify the characteristics of the interaction between symmetry and asymmetry in maintaining dynamic equilibrium in humans.
Methods and structure of the study. The study of the manifestation of symmetry and asymmetry in the dynamic equilibrium of the human body was conducted on the basis of studying the mechanisms of maintaining an upright posture. Its parameters were recorded on the Stabilan-01-2 stabilisation platform in the laboratory of ergonomic biomechanics at Adygea State University. 15 basketball players (aged 18-19) training at the advanced sports specialisation stage took part in the testing.
Results and conclusions. The asymmetry of dynamic equilibrium retention manifests itself in the displacement of the centre of mass oscillation control zone from the centre of the support contour and the shape of the dynamic centre of mass oscillation control pattern.
The classification of zones of displacement of dynamic equilibrium maintenance from the centre of the support contour provides objective information about the individualisation of the manifestation of functional asymmetry in the control of centre of mass oscillations and includes four zones of displacement formed by the axes of intersection of the frontal and sagittal axes at the centre of the support contour: ‘+F+C’ ‘-F+C’ ‘-F-C’ ‘+F-C’.
The classification of the form of the dynamic pattern of centre of mass control provides objective information about the functional asymmetry of the individual strategy for controlling centre of mass oscillations and includes circular and elliptical types of control, each of which is divided into two types: large and small circular types, and large and small elliptical types.
Keywords: dynamic equilibrium, signs of symmetry, signs of asymmetry, symmetry-asymmetry interaction, dynamic pattern, centre of mass oscillation control.
