Historical and sports aspect in the system of patriotic education of modern youth

Objective of the study is to develop and theoretically substantiate a comprehensive system of sports and patriotic education for young people as a factor in the formation of harmoniously developed personalities and socially active citizens of the Russian Federation.
Results and conclusions. The article reveals the system of sports and patriotic education, which includes a wide range of areas: spiritual and moral, historical, worldview, sociocultural, professional and activity-based, military and patriotic, political and legal, social, physical culture and health, educational, scientific and research, and psychological and pedagogical. The mechanisms for implementing various areas of patriotic education, their interconnection and influence on the formation of a harmoniously developed personality are shown.
