Objective of the study is to assess the impact of a simulated mindful walk on the parameters of interoceptive awareness and emotional state of students.
Methods and structure of the study. The scientific work was carried out during the examination session on a sample consisting of 47 first-year students aged 17 to 22. The experimental intervention used was the author's method, which integrates measured locomotor activity on a step machine with simultaneous visualisation of a familiar and emotionally positive location. To assess the dynamics of psychophysiological parameters, the validated Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness (MAIA-R) questionnaire was administered to respondents before and after the experimental intervention.
Results and conclusions. Statistically significant positive dynamics were demonstrated for key indicators studied. A reliable decrease in the ‘absence of anxiety’ indicator from 2.75 to 2.39 (p≤0.001) was recorded, reflecting a decrease in anxiety levels. At the same time, there was an increase in awareness of uncomfortable experiences: the ‘awareness of negative emotional state’ indicator increased from 2.59 to 2.99 (p≤0.001). An important result was also an improvement in the ability to self-regulate: the value of the ‘self-regulation based on active “listening” to the body’ scale increased from 2.55 to 2.79 (p≤0.014).

Keywords: students, self-regulation, multidimensional assessment of interoceptive awareness, MAIA-R.
