Introduction. One of the key objectives of modern education is to improve the physical fitness of students, which is especially important in the context of rapid technological progress. The introduction of AI-adaptive gaming platforms into the practice of physical education for younger students opens up new opportunities for motivating children, individualizing their training, and early specialization in sports.
The purpose of the study is to experimentally test the effectiveness of using AI-adaptive gaming platforms to improve the physical fitness and digital competencies of primary school students in the context of an additional general education program, as well as to motivate primary school students to engage in physical education.
Research methodology and organization. The empirical base of the study is the UMKA children's specialized school based on the Ulyanov State Pedagogical University. The study involved 4th grade students (aged 10-11 years). A total of 24 participants were included in the study, with 12 participants in the experimental group and 12 participants in the control group. Each group consisted of 6 boys and 6 girls, ensuring gender balance and increasing the objectivity of the study results. The assessment of physical fitness of junior school students was carried out using the standard tests of the VFSK GTO [1] in the period from October 2024 to April 2025 during physical education classes. The following standards are used within the 2nd stage: 60-meter run; long jump from a standing position with a two-leg push; 1000-meter run. At the same time, a test is used to identify the basic level of digital literacy among students. This test assesses key digital competencies, including the ability to use digital technologies safely and effectively. The study used a comparative analysis of test results before and after the use of the platforms, as well as a qualitative analysis of students' involvement in physical education classes.
Research results and discussion. The results of the experimental study indicate a significant increase in the physical fitness of primary school students who participated in the program using AI-adaptive gaming platforms. A comparative analysis of the indicators recorded before and after the introduction of AI platforms revealed an improvement in the main physical qualities: speed (the average time for running 60 m decreased by 8.5%), strength (the distance of a standing double jump increased by 12.3%), and endurance (the time for running 1000 m decreased by 10.1%). These changes were recorded in the experimental group, while the control group maintained stable indicators, which confirms the effectiveness of using AI-adaptive gaming platforms to improve the physical fitness of younger students in an additional general education program. Additionally, there was an increase in the level of engagement and motivation of students to engage in physical education and sports, which was due to the integration of elements of game interactivity and personalization of the training process using AI technologies.
Conclusion. The conducted digital literacy testing showed that the use of AI-adaptive platforms contributed to the development of not only physical qualities, but also key digital competencies in primary school students.
