Introduction. The positive self-concept of an individual as a subject of integration of educational and sports activities includes three interrelated structural components: affective (emotional self-assessment in relation to one's own image); cognitive (a set of knowledge about oneself); and conative (readiness for active transformation of oneself as an individual) [1, 2].
The purpose of the study is to determine and scientifically substantiate the effectiveness of the implementation of psychological mechanisms in the process of forming a positive self-concept of students based on the integration of educational and sports activities.
Methodology and organization of the study. The following diagnostic methods were used: "Self-Assessment" (T. Dembo-S. Ya. Rubinstein), "Self-Attitude" (S. R. Panteleev), and "Life Orientation" (D. A.Leontiev), "Self-confidence" (V. G. Romek).
Research results and their discussion. The formation of a positive self-concept in students was achieved through the implementation of the following psychological mechanisms: 1. The development of the affective component was achieved through the mechanism of personal reflection. The methods used were self-observation, self-analysis, self-evaluation, and self-acceptance. The results showed an increase in empathy, autosympathy, authenticity, and congruence; 2. The development of the cognitive component was achieved through the mechanism of identification. Methodological techniques: self-comparison with peers, controlled projection, role-playing, and socio-psychological training. As a result, there was an increase in real-self and ideal-self indicators, self-esteem, and a decrease in the level of pretentiousness and internal conflict. 3. The development of the conative component was achieved through the mechanisms of self-acceptance and self-prediction. Methodological approaches: self-development in the form of external self-affirmation in the "I-Others" system and self-improvement in the "I-I" system through modeling actions in the process of sports activities. Increase in indicators of "meaningful life attitudes", "life goals", "interest in life", "locus of control", and "self-confidence".
Conclusion. Thus, it should be concluded that the implementation of psychological mechanisms through the use of appropriate methodological techniques has increased the qualitative level of development of students' positive self-concept in the process of integrating educational and sports activities.
