Objective of the study is to theoretically substantiate and experimentally test the methods of self-regulation of first-year students.
Methods and structure of the study. First-year psychology students (n=32) took part in the research during the winter session. Using the hardware and software complex "BOSLAB", dynamic changes in key physiological indicators were recorded: galvanic skin response (GSR), photoplethysmogram (PPG), duration of the respiratory cycle and exhalation.
Results and conclusions. The phase nature of the adaptation processes was revealed: an initial decrease in the GSR (from 7.31±0.51 to 6.61±0.48 μSm) with subsequent stabilization (7.02±0.46 μSm), wave-like dynamics of the PPG (peak 307.31±29.75 c.u. in the first minute) and a significant increase in the duration of exhalation (from 1.48±0.07 to 1.89±0.16 s). The data obtained indicate a pronounced effect of the PGF on vegetative regulation, especially on the respiratory function, which confirms its effectiveness as a tool for managing stress reactions in the educational environment. The results of the study are of practical importance for the development of programs for psychological support of students during the period of adaptation to the academic load.

Keywords: students, self-regulation, physiological indicators, vegetative regulation.
