Functional response of the cardiovascular system of young basketball players to testing physical loads

Objective of the study to evaluate the response of the cardiovascular system of basketball players with different sports experience to the test load.
Methods and structure of the study. The study was based on observations of 37 young men who were full-time students in higher educational institutions. All of them were systematically trained 2-3 times a week in the basketball section for different periods: 1 year – 14 people, 2 years – 12 people, 3 years – 11 people. The control sample consisted of 16 clinically healthy adolescent students not interested in sports. The response of heart rate to the test load in the form of squats was monitored. The obtained results were subjected to Student's t-test.
Results and conclusions. As the sports experience increased, basketball players registered a weakening of the heart rate response to the test load. The basis of this phenomenon, apparently, is morphofunctional strengthening of myocardium, which intensifies with increasing length of sports training. In this regard, it is justified to recommend students to focus on long-term training in the basketball section to build up their physical capabilities and strengthen the heart muscles.
