Introduction

Global transformations and the emergence of new centers of economic and political influence—such as the expanded BRICS partnership and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)—necessitate a fundamental rethinking of traditional mechanisms of international collaboration [1, 2]. Particularly urgent is the modernization of technologies in professional education and workforce development to meet the challenges of a multipolar world.

Research objective

To analyze contemporary trends and develop recommendations for reforming technologies of international professional-educational cooperation within emerging integration alliances (BRICS, EAEU), with due consideration of the role of large-scale sports and cultural initiatives.

Results and discussion

Traditional models of academic mobility and bilateral agreements are increasingly being replaced by integrated, project-based approaches within the context of digital transformation in professional education—a trend actively promoted by both the EAEU and BRICS.

The current “BRICS Economic Partnership Strategy until 2025” emphasizes the need for close collaboration among member states in education across all critical economic sectors: industry, innovation and technology, and human capital development [2]. It specifically calls for harmonizing professional standards through the creation of mutually recognized qualification frameworks for key industries, the establishment of networked universities, and programs enabling students to study across member-state institutions. Additionally, it promotes faculty and researcher mobility, including professional development exchanges and joint R&D initiatives.
The BRICS University Consortium, currently comprising 56 higher education institutions, represents a unique initiative aimed at developing, piloting, and implementing a model of educational cooperation that balances national interests with global quality benchmarks.
Successful sporting events such as the BRICS Games and “Children of Asia” have demonstrated the effectiveness of intergovernmental collaboration in fostering mutual trust and soft power. These initiatives have catalyzed the emergence of new professional-educational formats—including the International BRICS Olympiad 2025—which integrate educational forums for young leaders, discussions on global challenges, and cultural exchange programs.
Conclusion

The reform of international professional-educational cooperation within the framework of new regional alliances is characterized by:

– A high priority assigned to digitalization, enabling virtual mobility, digital libraries and databases, and the delivery of online courses;

– A strategic focus on networked structures, proven as flexible and scalable instruments for joint training and knowledge sharing;
– Harmonization of requirements—particularly mutual recognition of qualifications and alignment of professional standards—as a foundational condition for labor market integration;
– Expansion of formats through the planning of hybrid models that integrate sport, education, and youth diplomacy;
– Strategic utilization of large-scale sports and cultural projects, which possess significant potential to embed educational components and establish informal professional networks among youth.

These developments signal a paradigm shift from transactional cooperation to systemic, value-driven integration—where education, culture, and sport converge as pillars of sustainable regional cohesion.
