Comparative Assessment of Healthy Lifestyle and Functional State of Students in Pedagogical Fields

Objective of the study is to compare the development of healthy lifestyle components and the functional state of the systems in students majoring in pedagogy with different levels of physical activity.
Methods and structure of the study. The research involved 101 first-year students of Vyatka State University in Kirov, studying in the life safety, physical education and foreign languages profiles. A comparative analysis of healthy lifestyle components was conducted between the groups using the ProZHOZH questionnaire and indicators for assessing the functional state of the body, characterized by vital capacity of the lungs, wrist dynamometry, functional state of the cardiovascular system and its adaptation to physical activity. The reliability of differences was determined by the nonparametric Mann-Whitney criterion. Statistical analysis of the data was performed using the Jamovi program (Version 1.6).
Results and conclusions. The data obtained indicate a satisfactory level of development of healthy lifestyle components in first-year students with different levels of physical activity. High rates of internal growth and interpersonal relationships were revealed, while attitudes to health and proper nutrition were rated lower. Statistically significant differences between the groups were established for physical activity, internal growth and interpersonal relationships, while in the group of students majoring in life safety and physical education, the values were significantly higher compared to students majoring in foreign languages. Evaluation of the functional state of students in the study groups revealed higher statistically significant rates among young men and women in the life safety and physical education group for the development of wrist dynamometry, cardiovascular response to physical activity and adaptation to it. Thus, a healthy lifestyle and physical activity contribute to maintaining the physical health and emotional well-being of students.
