Objective of the study is to experimentally substantiate a set of special exercises in sports swimming for teaching swimming to schoolchildren under the program of additional general developmental education.
Methods and structure of the study. The following research methods were used to solve the problems: theoretical analysis and generalization of literary sources, a survey in the form of a conversation, pedagogical observation, and a pedagogical experiment.
Results and conclusions. Effective exercises and the sequence of their application in teaching swimming were identified. The proposed set of exercises allows improving physical fitness and strengthening the health of schoolchildren studying under the additional general educational general developmental program. During the classes, the time for mastering the initial skills of swimming training is significantly reduced, and the correct swimming technique is formed, which allows for a short time to move on to the formation of more complex skills.
