Introduction. A promising option for improving the health of students is to involve them in sports activities [1, 2].
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of futsal on the physical fitness of second-year students.
Methodology and organization of research. Second-year students (45 people) participated in the scientific work Moscow State University of Management male 18-19 years old. Two groups were formed from the students – a football group (23 people), which began attending the mini-football section at the university twice a week at the beginning of the second year, and a control group consisting of 22 people, who retained their unsportsmanlike status. The observation was conducted in both groups during the second year of university studies, i.e., for 10 months, with initial and final assessments of the parameters under consideration, and continuous monitoring of their overall condition throughout the study. The study used the registration method, the testing method, and the mathematical processing method (Student's t-test was calculated).
Research results and their discussion. As a result of mini-football classes, a clear positive dynamics of their physical capabilities was noted in the second-year students. The most pronounced improvement was noted in relation to coordination and aerobic endurance. Significant positive changes were experienced by the parameters of speed and speed-strength qualities with a slight increase in flexibility. The boys of the control group, who did not experience additional physical exertion except for academic physical education classes, did not demonstrate changes in the considered tests compared to the initial level.
Conclusions. Regular physical activity in the futsal section provided students with a significant positive dynamics of their physical capabilities during their second year of university studies. The achievement of a pronounced improvement in their physical training parameters provides grounds for a broad recommendation of futsal as a means of physical improvement for students.
