The purpose of the study is to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a program for improving the physical fitness of Chinese hockey players at the training stage.
Research methodology and organization. The study involved hockey players from China's training groups as part of their regular training process. The focus was on improving the athletes' strength and coordination abilities through various stage-by-stage programs, including power-combinational training, simulated gliding, and basic strength exercises. The methods used included stabilization during jumps, working with medicine balls, jumping over barriers, and plyometric complexes. Tests of strength, speed, and coordination were used to assess physical fitness [1].
Research results and their discussion. As a result of the implementation of the developed program for improving physical fitness, significant positive changes in the performance of hockey players were recorded. For example, in the standing long jump test, the average result increased from 2.15±0.12 m to 2.38±0.10 m (p<0.05). The time performance in the 30-m sprint exercise was reduced from 5.12±0.21 s to 4.85±0.18 s (p<0.05). In the lateral movement test (Agility-test 5-10-5), the performance time improved from 7.90±0.34 s to 7.45±0.29 s. (p<0.05), and the maximum number of pull-ups increased from 8±2 times to 11±1.5 times (p<0.05).
Conclusion. The developed program for improving the physical fitness of Chinese ice hockey players at the training stage allowed for a significant improvement in strength, speed, and coordination. The program, based on a combination of strength, coordination, and imitation exercises, has proven its practical significance for enhancing the physical readiness of ice hockey players and can be recommended for widespread use in the training process.
